Men’s basketball falls to Chargers at home
(Saint John, NB) The Seawolves and Crandall Chargers came into the game looking to secure second place in the standings, aiming to finish the first half of the 2024 –25 regular season on a high note.
Both teams came out strong, matching each other point for point in the first quarter, which ended in a stalemate with each team scoring 21 points.
The Seawolves had a narrow lead by halftime. As they headed into the third quarter, both teams showed they wanted to win, with a score of 56-55 leading into the last quarter of the game.
Key players for the Seawolves were Jack Fury-Miller, who led the team offensively by scoring 26 points, and Aj Nash, who helped facilitate the offence with five assists and had eight rebounds.
In the final quarter, Crandall pulled away from the Seawolves with an impressive 24 points. Standout players for the Chargers were Daniel Hawkes, leading the team with 19 points, and Luca Del Bosco, who had 8 rebounds, which helped limit Seawolves' scoring. This gave Crandall the win with a final score of 75-67.
