(Saint John, NB) In a bitter back and forth bout at the Canada Games Stadium, the SJ Seawolves put the pedal to the mettle against the Crandall Chargers and churned out a flawless victory with a finishing score of 1-0. With Joce Splitgerber (7 SH, 3 SOG), Lindsay Anderson (4 SH, 2 SOG), and Grace Gordon (1 SH, 1 SOG, 1 G) leading the charge, the Seawolves pressed the pace from the very first half and scored early on against the Chargers' goalie Priyanka Rajput. This early goal set the stage for the shut-out victory that SJ goalie Kaitlyn Brzezicki abetted in effortless fashion. While the Chargers' Jamie Hicks and Sarah-Lee Philosca-Bastin gave it their all in an attempt to turn the tide with several shots on net, they couldn't cinch the goal.
In the end, that was all she wrote with the Seawolves's celebrating in signature style at the sidelines as the referee's whistle rang out at the ninety-minute mark. Now, with Saint John on a three-game winning streak, the avid fan should look forward to seeing how they pair up against the UKC Blue Devils for the second time this year. Having lost their last game against the Blue Devils, the Seawolves will likely be looking to redeem themselves on September 28, 2024.
