Seawolves Top Chargers 4-0

MONCTON, NB - UNBSJ upset the Crandall Chargers 4-0 on Friday evening at CN Sportsplex.

The Chargers looked to have their moxy back as the team came out surging putting early pressure on the Seawolves, nearly converting on a corner kick in the opening minutes.

Sarah Schurman recorded the Chargers first shot on goal during a home game this season, testing the Seawolves goalie with a pair of shots on goal.

Rebekah Deveau had a stand out game for Crandall, placing a corner kick beautifully inside the box and forcing several key turnovers.

The Seawolves' Joce Splitberger led her team with five shots taken, two of which were on goal against Chargers Goalie Reese Crocker who made her first start of the year.

Isabele Milutin opened the scoring in the 21st minute, cleaning up a Seawolves free kick that was awarded after a Yellow Card worthy slide tackle by Bilen Mekonnen. Hope Gaudet (38'), Joce Splitberger (52') and Jenna Marr (76') recorded the remaining goals for UNBSJ.

Crandall will be back in action on Wednesday evening as they host Dal AC at CN Sportsplex. Dal took a 2-0 victory earlier this season in the teams previous matchup.
