Chargers Drop Three Straight Sets to Hurricanes

MONCTON, NB - Holland Hurricanes won in three straight sets (25-13, 25-15, 25-19) over the Crandall Chargers on Saturday afternoon.

After dropping the first two sets the Chargers opened up the third set on a 7-0 run but the lead was not enough as Holland would rally to complete the sweep.

Izumo Ueda led the Hurricanes in points with 12.5 coming off of 9 kills, 2 service aces, 1 solo and 1 blocking assist. Ueda only recorded 3 digs but time and time again was all over the court making acrobatic plays to keep the play alive on the second touch.

Bryce Stockford showcased his defensive prowess at the net recording 3 solo blocks and 4 blocking assists for the Chargers.

The Chargers will head to Saint John Sunday afternoon to face off against the UNBSJ Seawolves before returning to Moncton to cap their inaugural season in front of a home crowd as they host the Université Sainte-Anne Dragons.
