Chargers Shutout In Home Opener, UKC Win 3-0

MONCTON, NB - Crandall Chargers had their home opener spoiled by the University of Kings College Blue Devils with a 3-0 shutout.

 

After hurricane Lee postponed the home opener last weekend the Crandall Chargers have finally come back to Moncton for their season opener against the UKC Blue Devils.

 

UKC were on the attack all game long puting a staggering 22 shots on goal led by Georgia Gavas with a pair of goals scoring off a peanlty kick in the 48th minute and netting her second in the 66th minute. Kennedy Mackill had the other Blue Devils goal finding the back of the net in the 50th minute.

 

Chargers Goalkeeper, Maya Clapperton had her hands full for 90 straight minutes recording 15 saves on 18 shots. On the other side of the field Blue Devils Rebecca Florean  kept a clean sheet never facing a shot on goal.

 

Crandall will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as they host the MSVU Mystics (4-0) at Harrison Trimble High School. Kickoff is set for noon.
