Hurricanes Top Chargers 4-0

MONCTON, NB - Crandall Chargers fall to Holland Hurricanes 0-4 for their fifth straight loss this season.

Saturday marked the third game in a row without a shot on goal for Crandall as the team continues to try to find their rhythm.

Hurricanes Emily LePine recorded a hat-trick in the match finding the back of the net in the 15, 19, and 28 minutes respectively. Lepine led Holland with five shots on goal followed closely by teammate, Hayden Chiasson putting four of her six shots on goal.

Reese Kelly added the final goal of the game for the Hurricanes, scoring in the 42 minute.

Both teams made halftime adjustments with Holland taking out several starters while Crandall swapped goalkeepers, going to the rookie Reese Crocker.

Crocker shut out the opponents in the second half stopping both shots that made it on goal and intercepting several crossing attempts. Crocker's ability to push the ball downfield from drop and goal kicks brought a spark to the Chargers opening the field and keeping the Hurricanes' defense from encroaching.

Crandall will next play on Friday, Oct. 6th against UNBSJ in the rescheduled match that was postponed due to Hurricane Lee. Kickoff is set for 6:00 PM at CN Sportsplex, field 3.
