Rams Outlast Chargers 3-2

Rams Outlast Chargers 3-2

MONCTON, NB - Crandall Chargers fall just short as the Dalhousie AC Rams take a 3-2 victory.

Chargers were revving to go from the first whistle as the third-year defender, Julianna Augustine found an open lane pushing the ball down the line and testing the Rams goalie in the opening minutes.

Dal AC Rams Clare Glover would open the scoring in the 9th minute of play and would capitalize again in the 41st. Glover led her team in all offensive stats with the pair of goals, and putting 5 of her 9 shots on goal.

Tegan Setterington scored the other goal for the Rams, chipping a low corner kick over the head of the Crandall Goalie, Reese Crocker.

Jamie Hicks netted the first goal for the Chargers this season, going for a long run with a through ball fed up through the midfield before rocketing it into the back of the net in the 15th minute of play.

Rebekah Deveau took advantage of a free kick in the 29th minute of play scoring her first goal of the year and temporarily giving Crandall their first lead of the year.

It was a tale of two halves as the second half saw no goals and limited shots as the Rams would utilize all of their available substitutions to hold onto their lead through to the final whistle.

This was the best team outing the Chargers have put together this season and though they did not come out with a victory on Wednesday evening the team looks to have momentum heading into the busiest part of their season. Crandall has five games remaining to play over the next eleven days.

The Chargers are on the road over the weekend as they will travel to take on MSVU and UKC on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
