MONCTON, NB - Crandall Chargers were held off the scoresheet as UKC win 2-0 to spoil Chargers home opener.
Crandall Chargers were back in Moncton for the first time in the 2023 season hosting the University of Kings College Blue Devils at Harrison Trimble High School.
The opening half of the game was a tough battle with the Blue Devils keeping Crandall on their back foot but the Chargers held strong in the first half, keeping it 0-0 going into halftime.
Tensions between both teams coming out of the break as the Yellow Cards started coming out in the 46th minute, a total of five yellows were recorded in the match with the Blue Devils claiming four.
Andrew McKenna would open the scoring for UKC in the 54th minute and teammate Liam McCara would net the second in the 69th.
Chargers interior defenders Ethan Druart and Christian Sheen had stand out performances locking up the inside lanes and turning away several Blue Devil attacks.
Crandall hold an 0-3 record and will look to turn it around tomorrow afternoon as they host MSVU (1-3) at Harrison Trimble High School with the game scheduled to kickoff at 2:15pm.
