Mounties Win 66-43 Over Chargers

MONCTON, NB - Crandall Chargers we unable to withstand the offensive play of the Mount Allison Mounties on Saturday afternoon as the Mounties get the win, 66-43.

Crandall had a strong opening quarter out scoring the Mounties 19-17, though Mount A. put together a long run of points to open the second quarter forcing the Chargers to play in catch up mode the remainder of the game.

Megan Gallie led the Chargers in scoring with 13 points and also accounted for 6 total rebounds and 2 steals. Coming off the bench Alexa Rancourt came down with an unbelievable 16 rebounds as well as scoring 9 points.

Abby Miller had a good game for the Mounties, scoring 13 points in her 20 minutes on the court. Defensively Maddie Greatorex and Jillian Mumford came down with 7 and 6 rebounds, respectively.

The Chargers will have a quick turn around as they head to Charlottetown to take on the Holland Hurricanes(5-3).
