Tommies Take Down Chargers 66-40

MONCTON, NB - Crandall Chargers fall to the STU Tommies 40-66 in their debut coming out of the winter break.

 

The opening minutes saw the two teams going back and forth in a tightly contested match. The Tommies took back the lead halfway through the opening quarter and would go on to hold it the remainder of the game.

 

Randi Ross had her best game to date, leading the Chargers with 18 points going 7-16 from the field and 4-11 from the line.

 

Kelsey Alward also had a good game contributing 12 points for Crandall while coming down with 10 total rebounds.

 

Paige Leblanc led the scoring for STU with 17 points going 5-13 from the field with 4 three-pointers. 

 

Celine Sterckel earned nearly all of her points the hard way for the Tommies going 10-12 from the free throw line while also adding on a pair of baskets from the field.

 

Crandall will host the 4-6 Holland Hurricanes on Sunday afternoon as the team still searches for their first win of the season. The two teams last played November 18th, a matchup that saw the Hurricanes blowout the Chargers 83-39.
