Hurricanes Take Down Chargers 79-48

MONCTON, NB - Holland Hurricanes take care of the Crandall Chargers 79-48 on Sunday afternoon.

 

The Holland Hurricanes made their second visit to Moncton this season and once again handed the Chargers another loss, winning 79-48.

 

Molly Sheen had a fantastic first half, scoring 16 points for the Chargers including a trio of baskets from beyond the arc. Holland would go on to shut down Sheen, only allowing her to put up three shots in the second half.

 

Chargers Randi Ross found herself in foul trouble early and would go on to foul out in the fourth quarter, putting additional pressure on the bench players to contribute.

 

Ellie Hiltz was one who saw extra court time in the matchup. Coming down with 9 total rebounds and dishing out 3 assists in 30 minutes of action.

 

Amy Plaggenhoef had a day to remember, scoring 29 points for the Hurricanes. Plaggenhoef went 10-18 from the field including 4 from beyond the arc while also adding six assist.

 

Alexa Rancourt had a double-double recording 17 points and 13 rebounds for Holland

 

The Chargers will head to Saint John on Friday evening to face off against the UNBSJ Seawolves before returning home for a Saturday rematch against STU. The previous matchup between Crandall and UNBSJ was the closest match of the season with the Seawolves just edging out the Chargers 53-50.
