Mounties Spoil Chargers Home Opener 68-48

MONCTON, NB - The Crandall Chargers did not have the home opener they planned as the Mount Allison Mountiners played spoiler, routing the Chargers 68-48.

 

Emily Briggs led the Chargers in scoring with 12 points, going 5-11 from the field including a pair of buckets from beyond the arc. 

 

Alexa Rancourt made her presence known in the paint accounting for 14 rebounds and putting down 9 points from the floor.

 

Torrie Janes put her name to 15 points for Mount A. going 5-10 from the field and draining all four free throws. 

 

Mounties were all over the court defensively with the 19 steals led by Maddie Greatorex and Sophie Trail with 4 each. The Mounties were +9 in the turnover battle, which turned into 23 points.

 

Crandall sits at 1-1 on the season and will look to get back above .500 on Saturday as they head out to Charlottetown, PE  to take on Holland College.
