Mounties Top Chargers 74-54

MONCTON, NB - Mount Allison Mounties took care of the Crandall Chargers 74-54 Saturday afternoon.

The Chargers found themselves down early in the match with a short bench and players quickly getting into foul trouble.

Daniel Hawkes stepped up his role as a big man on offence driving the ball and creating fouls. Hawkes led the Charges with 15 points, 6 of which came from free throws. Devon Glenn was an ironman during the game logging 40 minutes, 13 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.

The Mounties spread the ball around the entire game with Noah McCarthy leading the team with 15 points. Sam Pierson and Igor Radic both put up 14 points for Mount A. while on the other side of the ball Jones Munroe came down with 10 rebounds.

With their second straight loss the Charges are tied with Mount Allison in the standings with 10 points each and three games to go in the regular season. The men will look to get back into the win column as they head to Charlottetown on Sunday to take on the Holland Hurricanes.
