Chargers Gallop Past Mounties 90-73

MONCTON, NB - Chargers Gallop Past Mounties 90-73

The gym was rocking on Friday night at Crandall as the Chargers bested the Mount Allison Mounties 90-73.

Crandall set the pace in the opening seconds and Marc Hofer stole the tip-off and fed the ball to Tyray Cooper, putting the Mounties on their back foot all night long.

Cooper would go on to lead the Chargers in scoring, shooting 8-12 from the field for a total of 18 points.

It was the big man in maroon, Tim Ellison that dictated the pace of the game. Ellison scored 10 points in the opening frame and it took a full team effort by Crandall to limit him to 20 points on the night.

Crandall looked to their second-year big man, Colby Mcintosh to match up against Ellison. Mcintosh made sure that Ellison did not get a clean look and earned his points from the free-throw line. Mcintosh showcased his ability on both sides of the ball shooting 6-8 for 15 points.

The Chargers will look to win back-to-back games over Mount A as the two teams will face off next Friday in Sackville, NB.

Record: 4-1(W-L)

Next Match: Friday, Dec 1st at Mt A. | Tipoff 8:00 PM
