MONCTON, NB - Holland Hurricanes Stun Chargers 86-85 In Overtime

The Holland Hurricanes upset the Crandall Chargers 86-85 in a thrilling overtime game. The Hurricanes overcame a 19 point deficit midway through the third quarter to hand the Chargers their third loss of the season.

It was a scrappy and emotional game on Sunday afternoon with an unpredicted 45 Personal Fouls called in the match leading to multiple players fouling out, including Chargers Devon Glenn who was ejected in the second quarter after receiving two technicals.

Tyray Cooper went 9-15 from the field and 5-10 from the foul line to lead the Chargers scoring with 23 points

Marc Hofer went on to score 20 points for the chargers including a trio from beyond the arc while also leading Crandal in rebounds coming down with 9 boards.

In the dying seconds of overtime Bryce Corless drew a foul to send him to the line for three free-throws, making two of the three including the game winner over the Chargers. Corless led Holland with 22 points going 6-20 from the field and 10-12 from the line.

Diangelo Woodside took control of the game in the paint for the Hurricanes, scoring 20 points and high-pointing 15 combined rebounds.

Crandall will head to Saint John on Friday evening to take on the UNBSJ Seawolves before returning home for a Saturday evening rematch against the STU Tommies.
