Tommies defeat Chargers

MONCTON, NB - Crandall Chargers Women's basketball fall to STU Tommies 45-72 in their first game after a prolonged mid season break.

Emily Briggs led the Chargers offense putting up 15 points and going a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line. On the defensive side of the ball, Alexa Rancourt came down with 6 rebounds and 4 steals on the night.

Madison Owens of the STU Tommies led the game with 18 points, followed closely by teammate Emily Owens with 17. Mary Besselink came down with 9 rebounds during the game and dished the ball out for 4 assists.

The Chargers now sit at a 1-7 record with four games remaining in the regular season. Crandall will hit the court next Friday, February 18th as the Mount Allison Mountaineers come to Moncton.
