MONCTON, NB - UKC Upset Crandall in 5 Set Showdown

 

UKC Blue Devils walked away with a 3-2 (25-19, 21-25, 19-25, 15-9) victory over the Crandall Chargers on Sunday afternoon in Moncton.

 

After dropping the first set Crandall came back and claimed the following two sets highlighted by a 10 point run by the Chargers with Mia Doucet at the service line.

 

Jolie Allain led Crandall with 11 total points, recording 9 kills, a service ace and one solo block.

 

Hannah Druart had 5 service aces in the match for Crandall and a solo block.

 

Kaitlyn Legault made her presence known at the net in all 5 sets, leading the Blue Devils in total points with 17. Legault had a .588 hitting percentage with 11 kills while also recording 3 solo blocks and a pair of blocking assists.

 

Blue Devils Libero Jordyn Exner had a stand-out performance recording 13 digs covering all corners of the court, doing her part to ensure UKC kept several rallies ongoing.

 

The Chargers will return back to Crandall next weekend as they host STU on Saturday evening and Holland on Sunday.
