Fredericton, NB - STU Edges Chargers in Another 5 Set Showdown.
In a near identical matchup the two teams had last week the STU Tommies took all five sets to defeat the Crandall Chargers 3-2 (25-22, 19-25, 25-20, 22-25, 15-8).
Jolie Allain had a strong showing against her former team with a team high 13 kills and had 4 service aces, accounting for 17 points for the Chargers.
Janelle Blanchette had 10 kills along with 6 service aces. Blanchette currently is 3rd overall in the ACAA for service aces per set with 1.33.
Hailey Legacy and Brianna Rancourt were able to shut down the Tommies attacks as they recorded 5 and 4 solo blocks each, respectively.
Amy Le Blang went back into her regular Libero position and had a team high 17 digs for Crandall.
Kathleen Boyle was the top option for STU as she was set the ball 41 times, 12 of which she was able to convert into kills on way to a team leading 17 points.
The Chargers will be on the road next Saturday as they head to Halifax to take on the 4-0 MSVU Mystics.
