Chargers Open Season With 3-1 Win Over Seawolves

MONCTON, NB - Women's Volleyball shine in home opener defeating the UNBSJ Seawolves 3-1(25-22, 25-17, 22-25, 26-24) on Friday evening.

The Chargers started their season off with a bang and capped the night with a service ace via Brianna Rancourt to secure the teams first victory of the season.

The Crandall team looks significantly different from last season adding league veterans Amanda MacBain and Jolie Allain coming from Mount A. and STU, respectively. Melora Cook made her return to Crandall after a one year absence.

It was not just new faces making an impact on the game as fourth year Janelle Blanchette looks to once again be on a record setting pace as the Chargers top point scorer. Blanchette was deadly from the service line with 6 aces on the night while also tallying 10 kills over the four set match.

Allain was the top option for MacBain as she was fed the ball for 32 attacks, 12 of which she would convert into points.

Dominique Gendron was the only Seawolves player to record double-digit points for UNBSJ, with a total of 13.5 with a stat line of 11 kills, 1 ace, 1 solo and 1 assisting block.

Chargers will be back in action Saturday afternoon as they host the STU Tommies, first serve scheduled for 2:00 PM.
