Mystics Claim Three Set Win Over Chargers

MONCTON, NB - Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU) Mystics defeated the Crandall Chargers in three sets (25-19, 25-17, 25-15) on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Chargers came alive at the net getting their hands on a bevy of the Mystics attacks and turning several long rallies into points for Crandall. Brianna Rancourt (Charlottetown, PE) led the Chargers with a solo block and two blocking assists. While Hailey Legacy (Dieppe, NB) and Janelle Blanchette (Cap-Pele, NB)would both record 3 blocking assists each.

 

Sarah-Maude Malenfant (Dieppe, NB) recorded 15 digs for the Chargers while also successfully returning 13 of the 14 serves the Mystics sent her way. 

 

Marcy MacNeil led MSVU with a total of 11.5 points coming off 8 kills, a pair of solo blocks, a blocking assist and an ace.  Catherine MacPhail was only a half point behind MacNeil with 11 points, coming from 8 kills and a trio of aces.

 

The Chargers are currently 2-13 on the season and have three regular-season games remaining to get another win and improve upon last season's 2-win campaign. Crandall will be back in action tomorrow afternoon in Fredericton to take on STU before returning back to Moncton next Sunday for the final home game of the year and Seniors night against Dal AC.
