Rams spoil Chargers seniors night, take it 3-1

MONCTON, NB - Dalhousie Rams came into Moncton Sunday afternoon to play spoiler during Crandall's final home game and graduating seniors night, taking the match 3-1 (26-24, 25-21, 23-25, 25-23).

 

Crandall honoured their two graduating seniors pre-game, celebrating Emma Hiltz (Hebron, NS) and Maryse Luce (Moncton, NB).

 

The first matchup was a back-and-forth affair with the Rams edging out the Chargers. The difference maker between the two teams could be pinned down to attacking percentage with the Rams recording 36 kills on 108 attacks with 7 errors for a .269 hitting percentage compared to the Chargers' .245 hitting percentage and 17 errors.

 

Janelle Blanchette (Cap-Pele, NB) continues to be a top performer, leading the Chargers with 20.5 points, 16 kills, 4 aces, and a blocking assist. Blanchette is third in the ACAA with 179 kills and ranks fourth in the league averaging 2.93 kills per set.

 

Hailey Legacy racked up 12 points for Crandall with 5 service aces, 4 kills a solo block and 4 blocking assists. 

 

Callie Immerkar had a stellar game for Dalhousie making an impact in all phases of the game recording 14 kills, and 4 service aces while going above the net with 5 solo blocks and 1 blocking assist.

 

Catherine Wilkie routinely put her Ram's hitters in a position to attack, recording 35 assists in the match.

 

The Crandall Chargers will wrap up their regular season next Saturday in Saint John as they face off against the UNBSJ Seawolves. The two teams have squared off twice this season with UNBSJ winning both, taking the matchups 3-1 and 3-2.
