Julia Steeves

Julia graduated from Dalhousie University School of Physiotherapy in 2018. During her time at school, Julia had the opportunity to work in Ireland as a physiotherapist where she was able to learn and experience different approaches to treatment. Julia has a strong commitment to lifelong learning.  Her current treatment approach has been supported through additional courses in Functional Dry Needling, Concussion therapies and remote treatment.

Growing up, I participated in sports including hockey, baseball, basketball, lacrosse and many more. Playing sports spiked my interest in injury prevention and rehabilitation. I pursued an undergraduate degree in human movement and graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology. Playing competitive hockey at both the AAA and university levels showed me the need for physiotherapy support for all competitive athletes and I am now driven to work towards filling that gap in Atlantic region sports. Therefore, I have become involved in developing the skills needed to provide quality game side assistance to players.

While living in Nova Scotia I worked with Hockey Nova Scotia Male U13 and U14 teams for the 2017 and 2018 Atlantic Challenge Cup selection camps and tournament. After returning to New Brunswick, I had the opportunity to work with the Midget Minor AAA Male Moncton Thunderbirds in their first season as the head therapist and was invited to the role of head therapist for the U18 AAA Female Subaru Hockey and the Crandall University Women’s Volleyball teams.

Outside of working and volunteering, I enjoy playing hockey and am ranked provincially in Olympic lifting. With this passion for fitness, I have become a Certified Level 1 CrossFit trainer and enjoy coaching classes at a local Crossfit gym.

I am excited to provide care to all my clients and help them return to their active lifestyles.
